There is a growing and disturbing trend of “journalists” comparing Trump to Hitler. A recent CNN panel lead by anchor Fareed Zakaria was split on whether Trump was more like ISIS or Hitler, ultimately concluding that he more closely resembled the leader of the Third Reich. It’s all over social media too. Even liberal sites like the Huffington Post have acknowledged how absurd it is. I have problems with the way Donald Trump has been viciously smearing his opponents; but he does not deserve to be compared to Adolph Hitler, probably the most evil person in all of human history.

Barrack Obama is the most despotic man who’s ever occupied the Oval Office. That’s not to be taken lightly. We’ve had a few other terrible, power hungry Presidents over the past century. Despite his shredding of our Constitution I would never even think about comparing him to Hitler. That wouldn’t even be logical.

To me this is about more than Trump, it’s about the dangerous precedent that is set by such a grossly inaccurate character assassination. If someone has a bad policy agenda or positions that you disagree with, does that justify likening them to a genocidal maniac? That’s just slander. I believe that comparison is offensive to our brave WWII Veterans and to those who suffered through the terrible atrocities of the Holocaust.

Let us not forget Hitler was responsible for the ruthless torture, starvation and barbaric murder of more than 7 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, political dissidents, physically/mentally handicapped people and other minorities. He wiped out 2/3 of Europe’s Jewish population. Hitler’s physicians conducted unthinkably twisted human experiments on the prisoners of his concentration camps.

Take a moment or two for all that to sink in.. Still think Trump and the Führer are one in the same? I sure hope not.
